Building and ownership

Base building is included in the announced Early Access feature set, and Open Playtest III described a free-form building system. Development Log #15 says placing a property deed establishes an owned building radius and turns a proper home into a source of the Comfortable Buff.

How base decay was described

Development Log #9 describes a Resource Cabinet that shows which resource types and quantities must be deposited to prevent base decay. The post does not provide final consumption rates, radius, storage limits or grace periods.

Building 2.0 additions

Development Log #26 says a property deed tracks Prosperity, Antiquity, Architecture and Industry scores, now shown on the HUD while inside the build radius. It also describes glass and prison frame inserts, new decorative and defensive pieces, proper roof pieces, and progression through wood, adobe brick, stone and iron.

Enchantment upkeep

Development Log #27 adds build enchantments applied with Runes of Enchantment. The announced version absorbs the first 1,000 damage, regenerates over time and requires motes in the Resource Cabinet to avoid decaying. Because this is pre-release balance information, the value may change before Early Access.

Beds, sleeping bags and structure loss

Development Log #15 describes sleeping bags as temporary respawn points that decompose when unattended. Beds require a foundation. Both are said to disappear if the supporting structure is destroyed. These are development-log mechanics, not guaranteed launch values.

Comfort

The same post says a property-deed home, or a campfire with other survivors, can provide comfort. It described health regeneration while comfortable, with a slower rate when wet. Exact numbers are intentionally omitted here because balance may change before Early Access.

What remains unconfirmed

  • Final decay timers and upkeep formulas
  • Building limits and property-deed radius
  • Claim overlap, abandonment and transfer rules
  • PvE structure-damage rules
  • What building data survives a wipe
